In this lecture docent Juho-Heikki Tihinen examines the doppelganger theme in Jarmo Mäkilä’s art. Depictions of the other self, the alter ego, can be seen in many of Mäkilä’s works, that depict large groups of lookalike people. What is an alter ego and what is its meaning in Mäkilä’s art?
