A new painting to the art collection

The Signe and Ane Gyllenberg foundation has purchased a new painting by Helene Schjerfbeck to it's collections. The previously unknown painting La Coiffure Bleue d'après Guys (1940) hasn't been exhibited in Finland before. Schjerfbeck made her own interpretations of several works by French-Dutch painter Constantin Guys. Guys' paintings of the modern, beautifully dressed Parisian lady interested Schjerfbeck, who was very interested in fashion and clothes herself. The painting will be on display at Villa Gyllenberg from Saturday 26th of June during the museum's opening hours.
