Lecture: Helene Schjerfbeck and the modern woman

Helene Schjerfbeck painted several paintings depicting modern women in the 1920s and 1930s. Villa Gyllenberg's Chief Curator Lotta Nylund talks about the recently acquired Lady in black and red (ca. 1928) and of Schjerfbeck's ambivalent feelings towards "the modern woman" and modern fashion.
